The long awaited release of Nokia’s new N8 is almost upon us. Showcasing the brand’s new Symbian ^3 operating system, the Nokia N8 has a vast array of features that will tempt even the most dedicated Apple iPhone fan. Nokia are continuing their popular collaboration with the long standing optics specialists Carl Zeiss in the new Nokia N8 with a 12 mega pixel camera incorporated into the design. They are also offering full 720p HDMI support for the recording and playback of home movies. One particular standout feature (as if HDMI support is not enough) is the use of Dolby surround sound on video playback. The feature you immediately notice on the Nokia N8 is the huge 3.5  screen. Containing 16.7 million colors and a display resolution of 640 x 360 pixels, it really makes it standout from the plethora of other similar mobile phones. The Nokia N8 will offer touch-screen as already stated, plus also an accelerometer, a compass and a proximity sensor coupled with an ambient light detector. There is a mass of available applications in the online Ovi Store which will enable you to do things like updating your social networking sites, such as your Facebook and Twitter accounts, including the ability to upload photos to Facebook and synchronize Facebook events with your phones calendar. Another feature of the Nokia N8 that has been well highlighted by Nokia’s marketing department is the ability to watch Web TV from content providers such as CNN, E! Entertainment, Paramount and National Geographic. To summarize, the Nokia N8 promises to deliver the customer a very convincing rival of either the popular iPhone or Blackberry, containing features that bring it right to the forefront of modern mobile phone technology. Once it is released, there will be nothing to stop it helping Nokia maintain their status as the biggest mobile phone manufacturer on the planet.
