Can Murray Win His First Grand Slam?
There was a huge upset in Wimbledon this week. Roger Federer, the sixth times Wimbledon champion knocked out in the quarter finals by the Czech Tomas Berdych. On the other hand the World number one Rafael Nadal dispatched Robin Soderling in four sets to set up a classic encounter with Britain’s Andy Murray. Nadal is going like a fast car and certainly looks in a hurry to win his second Wimbledon crown. Before the tournament Nadal went to see some new cars which arrived in the market, may be from that he is feeling powerful and speedy at this year’s championship? Who knows?
Now that Roger is out many have changed their view and have said Nadal will win it. When interviewed after his defeat, Roger said that he was feeling a bit week because of an injury on his back. Even the bookies have made Nadal the favourite to get his second title. Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic might have something to say about that. Don’t forget there are still 3 of the 4 top players left in the semis. Don’t listen to the bookies, on their day these playes can beat anyone. Berdych and Novak would be a great match as Berdych has shown that he can beat anyone on his day.
This year anyone of these four can win it so it is very hard to call. In the Women’s side as many of the top players are out only Serena is left and is the clear favourite.
Fans of Andy Murray are hoping that he will get to his first final and win it but he obviously has to beat on fire Nadal in the semis to get there first, cannot get any tougher.
I am certainly taking the day off from my car reviews job that I do over Friday till Sunday to watch these matches. I nearly crashed my Audi a4 saloon the other day while listening to Andy Murray beating Tsonga while driving back from work. It is getting exciting.
