Coffin From the Future
Not a lot has happened on the old coffin design front. Even though the occupants are dead you’d think by now that those buying them would have expressed an interest in something different. Something wacky to represent the once wacky person within.
Would’ve thought the Germans would be first though?
Coffin designer Andreas Spiegel has come up with The Cocoon, an ovoid coffin built from natural materials like soy-based resin and jute lining. The high gloss finish makes it look like a life-pod from Star Trek. The natural build means that it’s reasonably green too, decomposing after 10-15 years. You get 14 colours to choose from and it only costs about £1,850. Bargain. – Martin Lynch
