iPod shuffle Bumped To 2GB & Cheaper Too

ipod shuffle.jpg Apple has doubled the capacity of its littlest iPod, the Shuffle, to 2GB and slashed to cost of the existing model.

The price of the 1GB player has been dropped to $49, quite a drop indeed, since it used to cost $79. The new 2GB model will ship at $69, so essentially you’re getting a shuffle with double the capacity for $10 less than the 1GB version would have cost you last weekend. Got it?

“At just $49, the iPod shuffle is the most affordable iPod ever,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide iPod Product Marketing. “The new 2GB model lets music lovers bring even more songs everywhere they go in the impossibly small iPod shuffle.”

No UK prices yet but, right now, the 1GB shuffle here costs £49.-Martin Lynch

[UPDATE: Apple UK now selling the 1GB shuffle for £32 and the 2GB one is en route for £45 - thanks PsychoPingu]
