LaCie’s Triple-Interface HDD Looks As Good As Ever

LaCie was smart to get Neil Poulton designing its hard drives because they look damn fine - as always.

This is another one looking like the slab from in the 2001: A Space Odyssey but adds an extra dose of functionality by adding very useful Firewire 400 and eSATA interfaces alongside the usual USB 2.0 port.

The drive comes clad in the usual sexy black mirrored finish with its cool blue LED strip. It’s not all style though since Poulton’s sturdy chassis features natural heat dissipation thanks to bottom plate holes.

“We are very excited to offer the new triple interface Hard Disk, Design by Neil Poulton,” said Lise Manteau, LaCie Desktop Hard Drive Product Manager. “The USB-only version announced late last year has been very popular. With this new product offering, we are now able to reach customers who prefer faster transfer rates with FireWire 400 and eSATA 1.5Gbit connectivity.”

The product comes preloaded with LaCie 1-Click Backup Software for PC and Mac and the Mac-only SilverKeeper. It’s available now in 500GB, 750GB and 1TB flavours for £99, £149 and £199, respectively.

The USB-only version now costs £69 for the 500GB drive. -Martin Lynch
