Life-size Star Wars Robots For Uber-Fans With Cash
For Sale: one really annoying robot and a really handy one that, thankfully, doesn’t speak but can fix your dishwasher and Sky+ box.
I’m referring of course to the tag team known as C-3PO and R2-D2, or at least these beautifully crafted life-size models from the talented Fred Barton – The Robot Man. If you have any room left in your living room after already splashing out on the incredible life-size Alien or Battlestar Gallactica’s new Cylon, this double act could be just the Star Wars collectible fix you need.
They are crafted from fibreglass and other materials so that what you end up with are very realistic looking replicas of your Stars Wars buddies. Complete with lights, characteristic beeping and some catchphrases they’ll not only force you to move out of your own bedroom, they’ll also help clean out your bank account.
C-3PO and R2-D2 are due in Q3 this year and will cost around £3,000 and £2,250, respectively.-Martin Lynch
