What are iPods?
Ipods are a type of portable media player or method of listening to music that are made by the company Apple Inc. and first burst onto the electronic market on October 23, 2001. Ipods quickly became popular with the listening public because they are sleek, slim, easy to carry and can hold many songs. These portable media players must be plugged into a computer by way of a USB drive and from there songs are downloaded onto the interface.
As of the date January 2008, there have been over 141 million Ipods sold throughout the globe. The older model Ipods could play music and that is about all. The newer more sophisticated models can be used for a variety of learning lessons on language, math, art, literature, architecture and music.
The line up of Ipod products to date includes the Ipod classic, the video-capable Ipod nano, the touchscreen Ipod touch and the screen less Ipod shuffle. Math modeling is possible on the newer versions of Ipods and the Apple company is looking at ways to help those who are hearing impaired to enjoy this form of technology to the best of their ability. Some of the former products of the Ipod include the compact Ipod mini and the spin-off from that, the Ipod photo. The Ipod photo has since merged into the classic Ipod design.
Media is not stored the same way in all of the Ipod products. For example the classic versions of the Ipod store the information for the player on an internal hard drive while the Ipods that are smaller in size make use of flash memory. With the exception of the Ipod touch, these digital players for songs can also be used as a method of storing external data. The amount of storage each Ipod contain varies depending on which model you are talking about.
The software that is required to transfer music to the Ipod is Apple’s iTunes. The iTunes store is home to a huge library of music that can be found by way of the Internet. This music is able to be played, burned as well as ripped from a compact disc. But Ipods do so much more than that. It is possible to transfer data such as photos, calendars, videos and games to the Ipods, depending on which models they are. Some are more capable of certain things than are others.

The Significance of the Help Desk Outsourcing BSC
Help desk outsourcing is a constantly growing industry worldwide. With the numerous competing companies in the industry, it is hard to identify who leads the pack and who is dependable and reliable. It is a headache calling one company after another in order to get the necessary help you want. Rating these companies should be made easy with a help desk outsourcing BSC or balanced scorecard.
The help desk is an important additional service in many companies. Most help desks provide assistance resource and information to troubleshoot problems with mostly computers and other similar products. Companies provide help desk services by letting their customers use toll-fee numbers, websites, and emails.
Many companies use third-party companies via subcontracting to provide them with help desk services. This practice is known in the industry as help desk outsourcing. These third-party companies hire workers who will be trained to master product designs and features from the contracting company. This is done to save company resources, lower firm costs, conserve or redirect energies, and make better use of information technology.
A scorecard can be used to evaluate the quality of help desk service provided by an outsourcing company. A help desk company has several teams involved based on the level of troubleshooting they are required to perform. A scorecard will determine the effectiveness of each team in providing customer service satisfaction.
The desk-side team is also called the desktop support team. These people are responsible for calls involving desktop problems, laptops, and other peripherals. The desk-side team is mainly concerned with second level issues in computer usage. These are mostly physical processes, such as configuring computers for a new user, repairing hardware and software, and transferring workstations to another location. Members of this team should be able to explain both simple and complicated processes in layman’s terms. The scorecard will assess how effective they are in explaining things to customers.
Another team in a help desk outsourcing company is the network team. The scope of their responsibility is explaining to callers certain features of network services, like files, security, and emails. Network hardware, software, and infrastructures are included in the areas of specialty for members of the network team. Network infrastructures include backup systems, switches, servers, and firewall. The scorecard will grade the quality of services based on how each staff explains such complicated processes so that they can easily be followed by those who are not technology geeks.
There are other teams involved in help desk outsourcing and most scorecards have guidelines in evaluating them, too. Telecom teams provide help with problems related to telephone sets, fax machines, modems, voicemail, VOIP, and PBX. A scorecard should be able to determine how well they provide services in configuration of telephone numbers and voicemail setups. Other outsourcing companies create teams that answer calls related to application software and remote access applications.
Great advancements in information technology can leave other people bewildered and help desks are very useful to them. The help desk outsourcing BSC could help them identify the best company that could provide them with troubleshooting solutions.

Home Theater Design – Hiding Your Flat Panel TV
For many families, the television has become the focal point for the activity in the family room or home theater room. This means it tends to take up a large portion of the room and is what much of the furniture and lighting is developed around. But that looks all together unnatural when the television is turned off.
There are a number of ways to hide a flat panel television when it is not being used by incorporating the feature into the overall home theater room design. Some use a static image to display a piece of art or favorite family picture. Others use elaborate mounting unites and screens to cover the television when it is not in use. A professionally design theater system can incorporate any idea you have to make the room beautiful both when in use as well as when not.
Below are some display options available for home owners as they consider how they want their flat panel television to be concealed when not in use.
Screensaver Displays
Since many LCD TVs are simple displays like those used by computer users, they can be set to display art and photos when they are not in use. Using a screensaver however does require the television to be on so it is not recommended for long stretches of time. It is best for use during parties.
Customized Art Covers
Custom art overlay options are becoming more common. A specialized piece of art on a canvas can be made to be placed over the screen when homeowners are not using the TV. This is an inexpensive solution that does not require any new wiring or customized mounting.
Many homeowners choose to hang their flat panel televisions above a fireplace. For a traditional flare, a wooden frame can be installed around it, thus turning your television into a mantel piece. Professional installers can also design an automated system that slides a screen cover over the flat panel.
Moving Displays
Pop-up and flip-down displays are the ultimate convenience for home theater owners. At the touch of a button, the screen can be brought up from an inconspicuous piece of furniture or down from the ceiling. This technique is especially useful with flat panel televisions that need to be installed at the foot of the bed; the television can be placed on a motorized lifting mechanism that can move the television up while watching TV before bed and down before you turn off the lights.
Other Considerations
Most home theaters are not comprised of the TV alone. Mounted televisions prove more difficult to integrate into an entertainment system because all the necessary connections need to be run through walls. Wireless technology for these applications is improving but is not yet fool-proof.
Custom home theater installers can offer advice on how to arrange DVD players and receivers to match the subtle look of a hidden flat panel television.
Choosing the right option to hide a LCD TV into a room’s design can be difficult. The size and shape of walls or the way they are built can limit the installation options. Place the television in the appropriate spot for viewing, and then start considering installation options.

Did Google Inc Donate $373,212 to Barack Obama’s Campaign?
At OpenSecrets.org, you find the list of top contributors to the Obama campaign. Google Inc is 6th in the list with $373,212 , behind Goldman Sachs, $627,730;University of California, $523,120; JPMorgan Chase & Co,$398,021; Citigroup Inc,$393,899; UBS AG, $378,400; and just slightly ahead of Harvard University, $369,802. Microsoft Corp donated $276,925 and ranked 15th among the top contributors.
Did Google indeed give $373,212 to the Obama camp? The answer is yes, but the money is not a corporate contribution but is the cumulative contribution from Google employees. Google Corporation did not give a cent and it does not run out of representatives in online forums who are quick to explain this.
Still with Google personnel leaning towards Obama, some concerns were raised about McCain getting shortchanged in Google searches and his general visibility in the Google-led World Wide Web. No this will not happen, one says, Google search algorithms have been well tested for security and reliability and cannot be tweaked by one or two employees. A naughty suggestion comes out to ask the AdWords team to raise the minimum bids for McCain and GOP related keywords, making them less visible in the AdSense feeds.
Not many are really surprised that Google (and Microsoft) employees will lean overwhelmingly towards Barack Obama. These are “highly educated younger people who are smart enough (and “tuned in” enough) to know that voting for McCain is absolutely unreasonable.” Most voices in the online communities in fact tend to root for Obama and no further search engine manipulations are needed. Whereas Obama is known to be active posters in online forums and walks around comfortably with his Goldberry gadget, McCain openly admits that he does not know how to use the mouse and the keyboard (as if that is something to be proud of). He also adds that he leaves all his email works to his wife. All these do not speak well of McCain’s learning curve on things new and unfamiliar. Too bad for him the world is not perfect (understatement applied), otherwise with his age and experience, McCain would have been the run away winner in the US 2008 election even this early. Even while he whines occasionally that this “young man Obama” has “got everything all wrong”, there is not a thankful younger generation who cares to listen.
More than fifty years ago, the irrepressible English philosopher Bertrand Russell warned us to be wary of anyone of who touts his 50 years of experience because he could be talking only of 1 year of experience repeated 50 times. Russell was not one who would go for more of the same. If he were alive today, he would be one with Google and the multitude worldwide who chant in their hearts “Change We Can Believe In.”

How to Choose Spy Equipment Wholesale
This article is focusing especially to spy equipment fans. Hope you would get some idea when finish reading this article.
Choosing spy equipment isn’t hard, when you can observe and feel it. However when you purchase spy equipment wholesale, you often won’t have this chance before making a purchase, as most of these purchases are made online or through mail order.
This makes the selection process a bit harder.
You are advice to read all of the information that is supplied. Make sure that terms like ‘imitation’, ‘second hand’ or ‘faux’ are not used if you are looking for genuine spy equipment.
Speak to the company representative and ask for more information if you are uncertain about everything that you are reading as well. Make sure you are getting wholesale prices.
Look for similar pieces at the online spy equipment stores, or even at your local spy equipment stores, and compare the prices. The wholesale price ought to be much lower.
Also verify the refund and exchange policy of the business you are planning to purchase from. Make sure that there is a ‘no questions asked’ money back guarantee, or the offer of a 100% refund if you are not satisfied.
If there is no refund policy, there should be no transaction at all! You can find other spy equipment wholesale from companies that do offer refunds and exchanges.
Remember genuine spy equipment would last longer, thus saving your money and your time as well.

Broadband – A Technology Requirement
Broadband is not only used for a high speed connection. In fact, the latest wave of technology, Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) requires its users to have broadband access. With broadband access the users of VOIP are changing the face of communication all over the world. With faster ways to communicate, the interest in a broadband connection and VOIP is on a rapid rise. Thanks to broadband, people can actually use the Internet to make telephone calls and no longer have to rely on plain old telephone lines.
Landline phones are fast becoming a thing of the past. Although users of VOIP require a high speed connection and may even require special software, the use of such technology has landline phone users switching over to the advantages that VOIP provides. What are the benefits of high speed technology over the plain old telephony service of yesteryear? You may be pleasantly surprised.
First, the fees associated with VOIP are often cheaper than a standard telephone service with the same features offered. Consumers today are always looking to save a buck and those individuals with high speed access have no trouble converting to VOIP telephone services. The fees vary from one VOIP to another, but a number of companies are offering services at more than reasonable costs to their subscribers.
Next, certain VOIP long distance calls do not incur a long distance charge at all. Moreover, even some international calls can be made without incurring additional charges. Thus, once again the cost is a big factor as to why consumers are switching from landline phone service to the technologically advanced services offered by high speed Internet access and VOIP.
With high speed Internet and VOIP services, many business owners are also seeing the benefits. First, an increase in productivity can be identified with the use of VOIP and business owners can have video conferencing and phone conferencing immediately available to them. This can cut down significantly on travel costs and it can increase the efficiency with which all business is handled within and outside the company.
The days of having lines of cable installed to have phone services and computer services are now over. High speed connections and VOIP services have literally done away with the snarling mess of under desk wires that accumulate from such services. Rather, all phone and conferencing transactions are handled through the computer, the high speed Internet Access and the VOIP software provided by VOIP manufacturers and distributors.
What does the future hold for high speed Internet and VOIP? Only time will tell, yet one thing is for certain, that the increased efficiency, the broader abilities to communicate and the money saving advantages of such technology are a sure indication that VOIP technologies are here for the long run. Why miss out? Catch the wave and get your high speed Internet and VOIP services today. Whether you get them for your personal use or you get such services for your business, the benefits you will derive from their use are more than worth their investment.

Reach for the Sky-pe!
Today, Friday the 25th April 2008, Skype have released a Beta version of their popular Skype calling application for your mobile phone. So you will have access to free Skype calling on the move. This beta version of the successful VoIP application will currently work with around 50 popular Java enabled mobile phones including Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Samsung and Motorola mobile phones.
Previously Skype has only been available on smartphones, those mobiles with Windows Mobile installed and more recently it has become a feature on many 3 mobile phones.
The new Skype for Mobiles will allow those who have downloaded the application to use the following features including: chat, group chat, presence (which lets you see who of your contacts is online) and receiving SkypeIn calls (calls from landline or mobile to Skype). The United Kingdom along with seven other chosen countries will have Skype-to-Skype and SkypeOut calls (which allow you to call mobiles or landlines from Skype).
Skype is using the Beta version in order to gain consumer feedback from the tech savvy users, consumers will be able to contact Skype to let it know about any flaws or problems in the downloaded version. This means that there will be some tweaks to the service before it is commercially released. It is expected that the Beta testing stage will last for a few months.
Skype for mobiles is still in its early stages, but it does add to the portfolio of Skype products such as the Skypephone and Skype for Windows Mobiles.

Clock Radios – Adjust the Volume
A clock radio is often one of those indiscernible household appliances which hardly ever get much attention until they quit working. Having a quality device with an alarm function can exactly spell the difference between following a regular schedule and suffering the aftermath of oversleeping. Most online shopping portals offer an exciting array of branded models.
When you’re planning to buy one, just keep in mind its readability. Most of the modern models ensure digital number displays, but the displays are not always the same size. A good one has numerical time displays which can be easily readable from far away. Some of the exquisite models have a ‘talking’ function, which ensures users to hear a voice announcing the time.
Another thing that you must think about in an alarm clock radio is its functionality. Setting the time and radio stations on a device shouldn’t be complicated. The function buttons should be distinct and particularly the larger snooze button. Shutting off the alarm or choosing the radio channel should be easy enough to perform. The most important function to look for is a sleep timer, which will mechanically shut off the radio after a preset length of time. The pure clock radio should have a battery-powered backup memory system to make resetting simpler.
It is best to decide which feature is most important to you — the clock or the radio. The cheap devices may have dependable alarms and readable displays, but the radio side is generally average at best. The radio signal releases through a very small speaker and functions more as an electronic noisemaker than a portable stereo unit. The high-end bush clock radio models incorporate Bose-style technology or CD players. You must choose the one with balanced features and against the purpose of the clock radio. If the alarm or the radio station is not loud enough to reliably wake you up, then the price is worthless. Online shopping portals display multi band travel clock radios, personal and utility radios, portable and clock radios. They have a good sound quality since they have digital audio broadcast receiving facilities
