4 Sale: World’s First Holographic HDTV

transscreen-holo-globe.jpg
Spotted on eBay: this 80-inch widescreen whose custom cut glass is able to capture light at a certain angle, making images appear to hover in the air when paired up with its included Sanyo LCD HDTV projector. So it’s basically a rear projector whose screen is made of glass and hangs out there in the open for all to see.

Don’t be fooled by the bandying about of the term “holographic,” because there’s not really any 3D going on here. It’s just a cool-looking cut-glass screen, a bit bigger than its predecessor, the Claro Holographic Television that was on sale at Harrods London for £15,000 a couple of years ago. Buyer beware, starting bid is £5500 (about $10,427).

PS3 Goes For $9,000 on eBay

10kps3ebay.jpg
Let the PS3 eBay entrepreneurship begin! Just a few hours after the PS3’s official launch (or hadn’t you heard?), systems are appearing on eBay and this one happened to catch our eye. A premium PS3 hailing from Michigan just went for $9,000. That’s $9,000 actual dollars, people. Do you know what you could buy with $9,000? Surely, something of greater value than a video game system. To each his own, I guess.

Thanks, Michael!

√Questionable Gadgets: Two-In-One Film/Digital Camera

filmdigicam.jpg
Apparently this two-in-one film and digital camera is such “amazing new technology” that it’s available only on eBay. The camera has a 35mm motorized compact camera with auto-rewind/power-rewind combined with a digital cam that takes 26 pictures at high resolution and 99 at low.

For a price of only £19.99 ($38), you can own your own hybrid camera that isn’t really good at either digital or film photography. It may be a decent Christmas present for the child in your home, though. Did you ever figure out where he came from?

Limited Edition Sidekick 3 by LRG and Diane von Furstenberg

sidekick3lelrgsm.jpg
The Special Edition Sidekick 3 by LRG that we saw a few weeks ago, is finally official, and available for preorder on the 30th of October. There isn’t any special added functionality, just the same old browser, trackball, 1.3MP camera, instant messaging and killer QWERTY. You’re paying, of course, for the camo paintjob. Perfect for hiding and texting in the park, or on hunting trips, or during…war. Or if you’re a rapper, since yea, its an LRG design. Tupac and Biggie never would have gotten shot if they’d traded in their chromed out Motorola Startacs for one of these.

But there’s a surprise in the form of a black Sidekick 3 LE model by working girl designer Diane Von Furstenberg. This isn’t like the other black ones we saw on ebay awhile back, though. This one is jet black with kisses all over the screen. Jump to get the first look at Diane’s special kissy face phone.
