We found out not so long ago that Sony’s beautiful, anorexic and shockingly expensive XEL-1 OLED TV was not going to arrive in the UK until next year but now we think you may not even want one.

The company has just unveiled an even sexier version of the XEL-1 - you know, the 11in telly we haven’t even had a chance to splash out over £1,700 on - with a battery-powered, wireless version.

That’s right, this wireless version really does make the most of its 3mm width [although we are talking a little fatter in parts round the rear thanks to the battery and HDTV tuner] by doing away with unsightly cables.
