iPod Shuffle Travel Case

ipodv2.jpg
Although only applicable to a select few people—2nd Gen iPod Shuffle users who also have the in-ear headphones—this mod is pretty cool. Basically, you stick your iPod Shuffle into the case that comes with the headphones after you cut out the two little pins. That’s all. So it’s not really a mod so much as an organizational technique.

Now to find a way to make this a bit more Altoid-y.

Cau’s Dual Headphone-Supporting PMP: Share Music With That Special Someone

caudual.jpg
How many people find themselves wishing that their digital audio player and/or portable media player supported more than one pair of headphones at a time? CAU Digital Corporation hopes that a lot of you do with its latest PMP that supports two wireless headphones simultaneously. Apparently it’s being marketed at couples and potential couples so that they can enjoy the music together. “Hey, baby, wanna listen to my fat beats?” Then enjoy a nice cup of coffee in your face.

That scenario aside, the ability to have two headphones at once is pretty interesting, if not outright impressive. You know what be great? If some tech geek proposed marriage to his wife by using a pre-recorded track and throwing it on the player so that both he and his gal can hear it. I don’t know if that’s 1337 or L4/\/\3.

Maxell Noise Canceling Headphones Block Out The Sounds of Life

maxellinear.jpg
Maxell is the latest company to come out with a pair (two, even!) of noise canceling headphones so that you can block out the annoying sounds of life while you’re listening to Cold War Kids and their washing machine song. The two headphones are supposed to reduce noise by up to 90 percent&emdash;that’s almost 100 percent! You can grab the over-the-ears HP-NC22, which is powered by AAA batteries, or the in-ear HP-NC18. Jump to see the over-the-ear beauties.

Unfortunately, these are only scheduled to come out in Japan at the moment. Of course, there’s plenty of other noise canceling/noise reducing headphones for you to choose from here.

Noise canceling headphones, for when life’s sounds aggravate you to no end.

Delphi SkyFi3 Review, A Capable Ugly Duckling

Delphi SkyFi3 w Car.jpgWe’ve had our eye on the SkyFi3 for some time now and the folks over at CNET have put it through the ringer noting that other than the MicroSD expansion slot it carries, the SkyFi3 doesn’t bring anything new to the market (especially not with its budget feel and monochrome display). You’ll have to splurge an additional $49 dollars on a pair of “funky-looking” antenna headphones if you want Live XM capability and even then, the sound quality is “a tad compressed sounding.” Overall, it’s deemed a “nice audio companion for those who spend lots of time in their autos.” If the Inno and Helix are outta your range, the $200 SkyFi3 might be what you were waiting for.

Lonely Walkman Bluetooth Transmitter Spotted Skulking Around Sony Press Event

Sony_WLA-NWB1_Bluetooth.jpg
Speaking of Sony, amid all the hoo-hah yesterday about the new Walkman lineup, did anyone even notice the Bluetooth transmitter that was also slipped out between those candy-colored confections? That’s it hugging the end of the player in the pic for dear life (it can also be seen lurking at the foot of yesterday’s post).

The WLA-NWB1 is due out in Japan on Nov. 18 for around ¥6,000 (US$50) and is guaranteed to play nicely with the over-ear DR-BT30Q headphones, the pendant-style DR-BT20NX cans or the SRS-BTM30 Bluetooth Speakers announced at the same time yesterday.

Zune Mockup With Wifi Headphones

Undoubtedly fake, this mockup of the Zune with WiFi headphones not only gets the thickness of the Zune wrong, but the whole concept of WiFi headphones is a bit weird and impractical. Imagine losing yet another pair of headphones because someone bumped into you on the street, not to mention where the power source…
