Gold Bar USB Hub

usb_goldbar2.jpg

I’d like to be able to tell you that this is real and that someone was stupid enough to carve their way into one to install USB connectors but, I can’t.

The upside though is that it looks like the real deal, is tacky in a good way and will cost you less than £30 when it arrives early next year.

It sports eight USB slots and one connector and has been built with enough metal for it to weigh over 2Kgs. So, what you get is something that looks like the real thing, weighs a little bit like the real thing, but is actually more useful than something you could only stare at weekends when you visit the family vault.

Credit Card Alarm Prevents Binge Shopping, Thievery, Forgetfulness

Biggest shopping day of the year—fooey is what I say to that. But if you do plan on battling the masses out today, you better proceed with caution and safety. The Credit Card alarm will beep every 20 seconds that the card is removed, therefore preventing you from leaving the card at a restaurant or store. The same beep could notify you when someone pick-pockets you or notifies when you are pulling the card out too often, a.k.a. today. 55 bux. – Travis Hudson

Bladerunner Mini For House Flying

blamin_lg.jpg Meet the baby brother of the Bladerunner helicopter, designed to fly around the house without destroying the mother-in-laws china.

It achieves this with an auto-forward feature which keeps it moving forward and, the makers say, makes it a helluva lot easier to fly around the room. You even get a little green man for pretend rescues, although practicing to be able get more beer from the fridge might be more useful. Here are some specs:

* A full left, right, up, down digitally proportioned control.
* An auto-forward system keeping the helicopter in a constant forward motion making it easy to fly.
* A small green Rescue Man that can be hooked onto the Bladerunner as it swoops.
* A field charger.
* A transmitter with pitch control and a 30 ft flying range.
* Full instructions.
* A flight speed of 13-23 feet per minute.
* A charge time of 45 minutes is equal to a run time of 6 minutes.
* Suitable for ages 8 years+.
* Requires 1 x 9V Battery for the remote (not included) and 4 x C Cell Batteries for the charger (not included).
* Size: 26 x 23 x 12cm (body of helicopter 12cm in length).

Glow Pets Do What Real Ones Can’t

Glow-Pets.jpg
Cute is not a criteria I use to base any product purchasing decisions on. In fact, my definition of cute tends to stop at: “Does it come in black?”

These little buggers will not be making it to my home but I’m sure many of you have girly girlfriends or offspring young enough, or even likeable enough, to warrant a Glow Pet.

Made from the best plastic that money can buy, the elephant, rabbit and kitten have movable felted arms and legs. Switch them on and watch them glow their little asses off for up to six hours. And just a tenner each too.-Martin Lynch

Pimp My Mouse: Street Mouse TVR

tuscan TVR.jpg Customising cars has become the hobby of choice for many of the country’s youf. After all, why buy a £50,000 sports car when you can spend around £8,000 on a Citroen C2 and £42,000 blinging it up? Obvious really.

What better gift then for the car freak in your house than the Street Mouse TVR. Yes, it is a mouse in the shape of a car. In this case, it’s a Tuscan TVR and under the hood is a 800dpi mouse with three buttons and the scroll wheel.

Still who cares about that techie stuff? This is meant to appeal to those for whom looks is everything. If you’re not scrabbling for that all important piece of plastic already you should know that it also boasts some working blue LED lights? Wicked. Comes in red or silver for £16 here.-Martin Lynch

Chill Out With The ‘Thaw’ Ice Candle Holder

mathmos thaw.jpg
Mixing fire and ice might be good in a song or the recipe for a fiery relationship but I would have thought the two couldn’t possibly be combined to make a good candle.

Mathmos, makers of the iconic Lava lamps that most of us have tripped out to or passed out under at least once in our lives, begs to differ. It thinks the two go very well in its latest gizmo, Thaw. It’s a tea light candle holder that diffuses the light from the candle through the ice as it melts. Again, you’ll be looking at some interesting patterns, albeit we suspect on a smaller scale than the Lava lamp. Here’s how it works:

“Fill the silicone mould with water, and place in the freezer overnight. Then pull back the mould to reveal the perfectly frozen, rounded ice shade for the tea light. Place the silicone mould back into the polished steel base, and sit the candle and ice shade on top.”

The ice takes around 3 hours to fully melt once the candle is fired up.

Christmas romantics can have it for £24 here but stoners should stick with the Lava lamp.-Martin Lynch
