Bog-Surfing: UK Workers Create New Trend

toilet.jpg There was a time when heading to the bog meant sneaking out for a quick smoke but these days people are actually going to the loo, just not for what you think.

In a recent survey, T-Mobile discovered that almost half of UK workers are now using mobiles at work to get their online fix. Around 15% of office workers are doing so on the bog, the new last refuge of the harassed surfer.

It seems that a quarter of UK employers have banned staff from accessing social networking sites while 9% have been banned from using Web-based email packages and - somewhat astonishingly - 7 per cent are not allowed to use Google.

It may seem Draconian – and it is – but then we know just how much time we waste online every day.-Martin Lynch
