Sky Beams TV To The PSP

One of the more interesting services to be announced for the PSP has just gone live in the UK & Ireland, allowing owners to access a new video-on-demand service with Sky, beginning with a 1-month free trial.

Users will be able to access content from Disney-ABC-ESPN Television, BBC Worldwide, Sony Pictures Television International, NBC Universal International Television Distribution, National Geographic and Sky Sports. The service is PC-based and uses the Kontiki peer-to-peer software for downloading programmes which can then be transferred to your PSP. What, no Wi-Fi access to download directly to the PSP?

PSP Getting Google Internet Search

psp slim.jpg
The PSP has been undergoing lots of changes in terms of its functionality this year and Sony has now just confirmed that it will be adding Google Internet search to the handheld with the next software update.

Version 4.00 of the firmware, which is due ’soon’, will deliver Google Internet search directly to the XMB (XrossMediaBar) interface making it snap to search the Web, as long as you’re hooked up via Wi-Fi. The search bar will operate just as it does on your PC, delivering the same search results and keeping a search history of up to 20 items - so that Mum & Dad can see what you’re really looking for.

Denon’s ‘Death Star’ Home Cinema Rig

There’s no shapely reason why Denon’s marketing folk are calling this new AV offering the ‘Imperial Death Star’ but, they are, and maybe it’s because it weighs the same, costs as much and can obliterate most bank accounts in one big blast. Denon was aiming to do the same on Monday with its new [...]
